Challenge #1, and a little intro.

Each day I will pose a challenge to anyone that reads it. It may be funny or scary or simple or hard. It may require thinking or searching or writing or doing or even just noticing. It may be unusual or an everyday thing. Choose to take part daily, once a week, or simply when the challenge looks interesting.

This year life is sure to take me to some interesting places. My hope is that in those interesting places, I fuel my own day to day actions. That I create three hundred and sixty five memorable days in the memorable places that the lifetrain dropped me off. Live with the power of the wind, I say, but always make your own footprints. Allow life to sweep you away but don’t forget about the importance, the opportunity, the inspiration that each day has the potential to bring.

And so I will challenge myself—and my readers—to create a day to remember, each and every day. I will pose (and attempt to complete) a challenge each day in hopes that it will help me, and you, live out the full potential that every sunrise brings.

Challenge #1, January 1, 2011: We live such busy lives, sometimes we forget to reflect. It is always all about moving forward, but sometimes it is important to look back. Before settling on a new year’s resolution, think back to 2010. Write down or mentally list three things from 2010 you are most proud of.  And then give yourself a high five—because even if you wouldn’t label 2010 a ‘successful’ year, at least you accomplished something!

Continue thinking about 2010, if you have time. What went right? What did you learn? Were there any life-changing events? A lot can happen in 365 days, a lot can change. Who were you at the beginning of 2010? Who are you now?

About onechallengeaday

I am searching for nothing and absorbing everything. My eyes are open--I am wondering, I am wandering. I was made to run, to think, and to write. And that is what I plan to do.

I think your idea is great also and I accept your first challenge. Three things I’m most proud of accomplishing in 2010 are, One: believing every day that things have to eventually get better. Two: that they can’t get any worse, Three: hanging in there in spite of waking up everyday to even more disappointment.
I’m talking about the disappointing traffic to my blog, Christ I thought people would be falling all over themselves to read this stuff.

Wow, this was kind of difficult for me. Reflecting back always makes me a little uneasy, a little nervous. Here are three highlights from my 2010:
    1. I started in a yoga teacher training program (after many years of saying, “I should do that…”) [http://yogayearbook.wordpress.com/about-this-site/]
    2. I told my family how I really feel. (Again, after many years of saying, “I should probably do that…”)
    3. I grew into becoming the wife my husband deserves. (An example: http://smilekiddo.wordpress.com/2010/11/13/goodbye-sweet-girl/ then http://smilekiddo.wordpress.com/2010/11/14/a-lazy-day/.)
