Challenge #36

Howdy, readers. I´ve made it to Poland, which seems unreal. Unfortunately, my internet access is going to be a bit random for awhile because the set up process in the dorm takes two days and they only do it on week days. Luckily, the girl that is my temporary roommate is wonderful and is letting me use her computer every now and then.

I have decided to do a series of sorts with my next five challenges. I think that this series will give me a little boost in appreciating all of this newness.

Challenge #36, February 5, 2011: Appreciate your sense of smell today. Take notice of things you smell, where they are coming from, what effect they may have on your emotions or thoughts. Smell things that perhaps you wouldn´t normally take a whiff of.  Utilize your nosey and appreciate it.

Can you guess where this series is going?

About onechallengeaday

I am searching for nothing and absorbing everything. My eyes are open--I am wondering, I am wandering. I was made to run, to think, and to write. And that is what I plan to do.

I sometimes tease my husband because of his propensity to smell anything new that is presented to him – especially food. Every time I make a new recipe, the first thing he does is stick it up super-close to his nose and inhale. Tonight I followed his lead (per your challenge for today), and I did have a different experience with the new recipe than I would have otherwise. I don’t know that I’ll be doing this all the time, but it was good to do at least once. 🙂

    • I know a few people who seem to need to smell everything. They always make me laugh. I accidentailly slept until 5 this evening, so I only had a few hours to smell around, but this new city definitely has some different smells. It is interesing–I wonder where they come from.
